The Red Cross of Saint George it is edged in White, the patron Saint for England superimposed on the Saltire of Saint Andrew for the Patron Saint of Scotland (White St Andrew's Cross) in 1801 the Flag was changed to include St Patrick's Cross, the patron Saint for Ireland.
