Horsepower was going down, but everyone still loved the look. The best year was 1979 a record year for Chevy selling 282,571. By 1981 the Camaro had 3 trims. The Third Generation from 1982-1984 Camaro had some changes with the engines that brought them to smaller builds but there were MacPherson Strut Systems for front ends and the back end had a long torque arm and coils and then fuel injectors and automatic transmissions and 4 speed manual. The next vehicle was the IROC in 1985 better, bigger engine and a new convertible too.  1990 was the last year for the IROC. In spring of 1990 Chevy re-introduced the Z-28, it had a tall rear wing, lower body cladding, new hood scoops, five spoke wheels and engine 245 horsepower 5.7 liter TPI V8.  The Fourth Generation 1993 Camaro led with 2 models, the base sport coupe with GM V6 and the Z28 with the Corvette’s small-block V8. The Z28 was a hit. 1994 the convertible returned.
